Project Assistant (Part-time) (ten posts) (Ref. 220908001)

[Appointment period: twelve months]

Duties

The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project - “Scaling up [email protected] in kindergarten sector to cultivate culturally responsive education”. He/She will be required to:

deliver quality Chinese lessons to ethnic minorities (EM) non-Chinese speaking (NCS) children of 3 to 6 years old with the storybooks and lesson plans provided in the Reading Scheme;

conduct teaching in face-to-face and/or online mode depending on the pandemic situation;

mentor the Reading Ambassadors (Student Assistants) by demonstrating professional teaching and classroom management techniques;

evaluate, comment, and report on children’s progress;

travel to different service locations depending on the kindergartens assigned;

attend a pre-service training workshop; and

perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her

Qualifications

Applicants should:

have an honours degree or an equivalent qualification in Early Childhood Education (CE/BEd/PGDECE) and Qualified Kindergarten Teacher Certificate, plus at least 2 years of teaching experience in kindergartens;

have a good command of both written and spoken Chinese, with fluency in English being an advantage;

be responsible, flexible, motivated and enthusiastic about teaching; and

have good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Chinese word processing.

Conditions of Service

The remuneration rate is HK$122 per hour.
