ECERS Talents Training and Placement Scheme

We are seeking enthusiastic and observant individuals to participate in a Talents Training and Placement Scheme focused on Early Childhood Educational Environment Observation. This opportunity offers unique training related to Early Childhood Educational Environment and Early Childhood Environment Rating Scales (ECERS), an international measure to better understand educational environments and teacher-student interactions.  Upon completion of training and observation, participants will receive a certificate of ECERS training and observation from KeySteps 2.0 EdUHK.

  • Earn some money: $72 to 85/hour, depending on your qualifications.

 

Requirements for Applicants: 

  • Proficiency in Cantonese, with a good understanding of English and Putonghua. Proficiency in all three languages will be given priority.
  • Early Childhood Education or education-related PhD/Master's students.
  • Non-final year university graduate students seeking extra learning opportunities are encouraged to apply. 
  • Student helpers/Part-time RA who have experience in children assessment in KeySteps 2.0 project are welcome.
  • Educationals with capabilities or prior working experience in Early Childhood Education settings are also invited to participate.
  • Candidates with an observant nature and attention to detail are highly preferred. 
  • Commitment to attending an onsite two-hour training at The Education University of Hong Kong (Tai Po campus) followed by two quizzes utilizing classroom videos for scoring. 
  • Commitment to contributing to a minimum of 4 half days per week, mainly in the mornings.
  • Observations will be conducted in two stages: September to December 2024 and March to May 2025. Candidates need to commit to attending at least one stage of the observation.
