Christian Alliance P.C. Lau International School (CAPCL), a non-profit making school wholly owned by Kowloon Tong Church of the Chinese Christian and Missionary Alliance, invites applications from potential applicants to fill the following position:

Librarian

Job duties:

• Oversee the library and makerspace
• Assist in acquisitions, cataloguing, reporting and other administrative duties
• Maintain the library system to manage the library data, bar code, cataloguing and other processing
• Maintain library materials, bibliographic and other library files
• Promote library activities, update the library website and bulletin boards
• Edit bibliographic records to add or remove items according to current library stock
• Assist in organizing literacy programs and book displays
• Stocktake and manage the serial collection

Job Requirements:

• A degree from a program accredited by a national library association (such as the American Library Association, the Australian Library and Information Association, or equivalent) or a Bachelor degree in Library and Information Management
• At least 2-3 years of library experience in school setting
• Expertise in online searching using the internet and a range of databases
• Familiar with library management software such as Follett Destiny
• Confidence in working with primary school teachers and students
• Passionate for literacy promotion, good organizational and time management skills
• Flexible and able to take on new challenges
• Speak and write fluent English and Chinese
