Operations Manager

We seek a highly motivated, strategic thinking professional who will lead the Operations team for Victoria Educational Organisation (VEO). The Operations Manager will work closely with the Principals, Campus Heads and administration teams to maintain, streamline and strengthen operations across all campuses.

Responsibilities:

  • Possess operations experience with a proven history of leading teams within and across departments
  • Be a strategic thinker, capable of short and long term budgeting, be able to clearly communicate individual and department values and needs, and be able to motivate team and peer members to high performance levels
  • Interact effectively with all stakeholders of the School, including teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, students, administration, finance and marketing teams in order to provide seamless operations across VEO kindergartens and playparks and
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation, organisational, communication, problem-solving and leadership skills
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership and be responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all Operational functions across our kindergartens and playparks
  • Establish internal policies, procedures and systems in line with industry best practices to respond to stakeholders’ functional support needs
  • Strengthen and review operational functions, and consolidate and review existing operational practices throughout the school
  • Strengthen support services that result in an enhanced teacher/student/staff experience
  • Be responsible for the Department’s annual business planning and budgeting
  • Manage key suppliers including student and staff uniforms, bus companies, venue bookings, extra curricular activities, warehouse team
  • Oversee campus renovations and facilities management, renewal of leases, working with contractors and suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant operations experience, with strong decision making ability, willingness to review and support change, and ability to lead team and work well with others
  • Proven experience within the educational and/or hospitality industry is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, clearly communicate department priorities, and engage effectively with stakeholders to ensure a quality experience is achieved
  • Experience managing a team of employees, budgets, and projects from beginning to completion
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic, a results-driven mentality and a positive attitude
  • Ability to relate effectively to a wide range of personality types and working styles
  • Ability to effectively coordinate tasks and priorities, with attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Chinese and English
